TIRANA, Oct. 13 (TemA) — Albania ranks 44th worldwide and second in the Balkans among the best countries for women, according to CEOWORLD Magazine’s 2025 global index.
The survey, based on responses from nearly 280,000 women across 156 countries, measured gender equality, women’s political participation, income parity, safety, education and employment.
Albania scored 82.87 points, trailing only Serbia regionally. Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia followed with slightly lower scores.
Globally, the Netherlands topped the list, followed by Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Eight of the top ten countries are in Europe, joined by Canada and New Zealand.
At the bottom of the ranking were Syria, Chad, Somalia and the Central African Republic, where conflict and weak economies continue to endanger women’s lives.
