Clocks across Europe moved one hour ahead early Sunday morning, marking the official start of daylight saving time.
The shift took place at 2:00 AM on March 30, giving way to longer evenings and signaling the seasonal transition into spring. The EU-wide practice, in place since 1981, is designed to make better use of daylight and reduce energy consumption.
Clocks will return to standard time on the last Sunday of October.
