Authorities review supermarket prices

The Competition Authority has launched a review of supermarket prices following complaints from consumers and concerns raised by lawmakers.

The review will cover the country’s largest supermarket chains and focus on everyday grocery products.

Retailers have been asked to submit sales data for 2025 and the first half of 2026, along with their 30 best-selling products.

The authority will examine price trends and assess whether competition is working properly.

It said the review could lead to further action if it finds practices that breach competition rules.
