Ukraine meeting in Tirana postponed over security concerns

A Ukraine-South East Europe ministerial meeting planned in Tirana has been postponed because of the security situation in Ukraine.

Albania’s foreign ministry said the meeting, due on 12 June, would be held at a later date.

It said Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andrii Sybiha, who was due to co-host the talks, had other commitments linked to the situation in his country.

The meeting was expected to bring together foreign ministers from Ukraine and South East Europe.

Albania has been one of Ukraine’s strong supporters in the region since Russia’s full-scale invasion.

A new date for the meeting has not yet been announced.
