PM announces plan to rebuild justice buildings in Albania

TIRANA, Oct. 19 — Prime Minister Edi Rama said Sunday that Albania will draft a national plan to rebuild and modernise justice institutions, calling current court and prosecution buildings “undignified” and outdated.

Speaking on his weekly podcast Flasim, Rama said the state will take direct responsibility for the infrastructure of the justice system, which he described as poorly managed under judicial self-administration.

He said the new “master plan” will aim to create modern, functional facilities by 2030. “We cannot continue with patches and cramped spaces that hurt performance,” Rama said.

The project, he added, is part of the government’s broader “Albania 2030” vision for institutional reform.
