Ervin Salianji, a former lawmaker from Albania’s opposition Democratic Party, accused party leader Sali Berisha of weakening the opposition instead of confronting Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Salianji, who was expelled from the party after criticizing its leadership, said Berisha should have acted as a political shield for protesters outside parliament but instead left the building.
He also accused Berisha of excluding experienced party figures from the party’s leadership bodies and rewarding loyalists with little public profile.
