France face England in Miami today for third place at the World Cup, in what will be Didier Deschamps’ last match as France manager.
After 14 years in charge, Deschamps is stepping down after his 185th game leading the national team. He wants to end his tenure with a final victory.
Both teams enter the match exhausted just four days after losing their semi-finals. England manager Thomas Tuchel said "nobody wants to play this game," and Deschamps agreed.
However, French striker Kylian Mbappé has a strong personal reason to play. He is currently tied with Argentina's Lionel Messi on eight goals for the tournament's top scorer award.
Mbappé is also just one goal behind Messi's all-time World Cup record of 21 goals, despite having played three fewer tournaments than his rival.
Spain and Argentina prepare for final
Attention then turns to Sunday's final in New Jersey, where Spain play current champions Argentina. The match takes place in an area recently affected by smoke from wildfires.
Spain want to win their first world title since 2010. Meanwhile, Argentina are trying to become the first team in 64 years to win two World Cups in a row.
The final will feature a large Super Bowl-style halftime concert and many VIP guests, including U.S. President Donald Trump.
