Greece arrests four Chinese nationals for spying near airbase

ATHENS, July 9 - Greek authorities have arrested four Chinese nationals caught photographing sensitive military installations near the Tanagra airbase, home to the country’s Rafale fighter jets.

Two men, a woman, and a teenager were first spotted by security staff from the Hellenic Aerospace Industry, who warned them to leave the area. The group ignored the warnings and continued filming from a bridge overlooking the base.

Air Force personnel from the 114 Combat Wing moved in, detained the group, and handed them over to local police. Authorities seized a large volume of photographic material during the arrest.

Investigators are now examining the footage and probing possible espionage links. Intelligence agencies have taken over the analysis of the seized materials.
