Brnabić under fire for racist outburst, calls opposition ‘Kurti’s heroes

Tensions hit boiling point in the Serbian Parliament as Speaker Ana Brnabić lashed out at opposition MPs, branding them “heroes of Albin Kurti” and accusing them of pleasing Kosovo’s media.

Amid shouting, smoke, and clashes, Brnabić waved Kosovan media reports in the air, claiming the opposition was being celebrated for disrupting Tuesday’s session.

“You are the heroes of Albin Kurti! He is pleased with you,” she fumed, using the word “Shqiptari” (Albanian) in a derogatory tone.

Serbia’s opposition had ignited a dramatic showdown, forcing a halt to proceedings with gas and smoke, in protest against President Aleksandar Vučić’s policies.

Brnabić’s fiery rhetoric and nationalist language have sparked outrage, with critics accusing her of fanning ethnic tensions.
