Albania has approved new rules aimed at cutting delays at border crossings.
The government says the system will follow a “one stop, one check” model for travellers, vehicles and goods.
The aim is to make crossings faster without weakening security controls.
The rules set clearer roles for border police, customs, health inspectors and plant inspection authorities.
Quick checks will be done at the first line, mainly for documents and basic data.
Cases that need deeper inspection will move to a second stage.
If one agency is not present at the border, other authorities will still be able to continue their checks.
The rules also cover joint border crossings with neighbouring countries and access to asylum procedures.
