Albania’s telecom industry expanded in 2024, with mobile services pushing total revenues to €400 million and broadband subscriptions continuing to rise.
TIRANA, May 14 – Albania’s telecom sector grew 4% in 2024, reaching €400 million in total revenue, driven by mobile services, according to AKEP.
Mobile accounted for 71% of market turnover, led by Vodafone Albania with a 58% share. SIM cards in use hit 3.4 million, well above the EU average per capita, though active SIMs fell to 2.5 million.
Fixed-line revenues dropped 4%, pulled down by One Albania. Despite the dip, fixed broadband subscribers rose 8.6% to 687,000, reflecting continued urban network investment.
