PARIS, Oct. 11 (TemA) — Paris has honoured Albanian novelist Ismail Kadare with a memorial plaque at 63 Boulevard Saint-Michel, where he wrote several of his best-known works.
The tribute recognises one of Europe’s major literary figures, whose novels brought Albanian history and identity to a global readership.
Albanian Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali called the gesture “France’s thank-you to the tireless fighter for a European Albania,” saying it commemorates a writer who “raised the Albanian language and nation to new heights.”
Kadare lived for decades in Paris and is regarded as one of the most influential voices of modern European literature.
