Ozzy Osbourne, “Prince of Darkness” of rock, dies aged 76

Legendary rock icon Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, his family announced, asking for privacy. No cause of death has been revealed, though he had faced numerous health challenges in recent years.

As co-founder of Black Sabbath, Ozzy helped shape heavy metal with classics like “Iron Man” and “War Pigs.” After leaving the band due to personal struggles, he launched a successful solo career with albums such as Blizzard of Ozz and Ordinary Man. He also became an unforgettable figure thanks to his wild stage antics—like the infamous bat-biting incident—and the reality TV hit The Osbournes.

Despite battling Parkinson’s and multiple accidents, he returned for a moving farewell show in Birmingham on July 5. Ozzy leaves behind his wife Sharon and four children.
