Kosovo president blames Serbia for abduction near border

PRISTINA, Nov. 4 (TemA) — Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani condemned Serbia on Monday after a Kosovo Serb was reportedly shot and abducted by Serbian gendarmes near Leposaviq, calling the incident proof of Belgrade’s “hegemonic approach.”

In a post on social media, Osmani said Serbia “attacks and tortures anyone who dares to tell the truth” about President Aleksandar Vučić’s rule, and urged the international community to respond.

“The democratic world must react and stop these assaults that threaten peace and stability in our region,” she wrote. “Kosovo’s political scene should speak with one voice in defending the country against such tendencies.”

Police said the victim, identified by initials M.V., was wounded and taken across the border into Serbia on Nov. 1. The incident occurred inside Kosovo’s territory near Leposavic, an area known as “point zero,” police said, adding that KFOR, the NATO-led peacekeeping force, had been notified.
