SKOPJE – Former North Macedonia First Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi was arrested on Sunday after surrendering at the Kosovo border, authorities said.
Police said he was detained under an active arrest warrant and taken into custody.
Grubi is under investigation over alleged abuse of office and corruption linked to contracts at the country’s state lottery company.
Prosecutors say the disputed deals caused financial damage of about €8 million.
A court had previously ordered his pre-trial detention after he failed to appear before judicial authorities.
