Italian police have seized a photo and a gun silencer from the home of a man under investigation over alleged “weekend sniper” killings during the siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s.
The search was carried out in northern Italy on the orders of Milan prosecutors.
Investigators are looking into claims that foreign civilians travelled to Bosnia during the war to shoot at people in Sarajevo.
The 64-year-old suspect has denied wrongdoing and told investigators the photo does not show him. He said the silencer was bought in France about 20 years ago and should have been declared to Italian authorities.
Four people are under investigation in the Milan case. Three have already been questioned and have denied the allegations.
