Israel orders evacuation in southern Lebanon

The Israeli military has issued a new evacuation order for the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, saying it is preparing to act “forcefully” against Hezbollah.

An Israeli spokesman accused Hezbollah of breaching the ceasefire and urged residents, including those in the city’s Christian quarter, to move north of the Zahrani river.

The order came a day after Iran said attacks on Lebanon should stop.

On Monday, after Iran and Israel exchanged fire for the first time since April, Tehran said it would pause its strikes if Israel stopped attacking Lebanon.
