Tirana to offer free public transport for pensioners starting January 2025

Dec 14, 2024 - From January 1, 2025, pensioners in Tirana will be able to travel for free on all urban bus lines. The Municipality of Tirana will cover the cost of their transport subscriptions, benefiting around 177,000 pensioners.

To sign up, eligible pensioners—women aged 60 and over, and men aged 65 and over—will need to register at their local administrative offices starting December 16, 2024. After registering, they can pick up their monthly transport subscriptions at designated points, bringing their ID cards and a photo.

In addition, students with a valid Student Card will continue to travel for free on Tirana's public transport system.
