SPAK chief named most influential figure in Albania for 2024

Dec 16, 2024 - Altin Dumani, head of Albania’s Special Prosecution Against Corruption (SPAK), has been voted the most influential figure in the country’s political and institutional developments for 2024. In a recent survey, Dumani outpaced both Prime Minister Edi Rama and opposition leader Sali Berisha.

The poll, conducted by expert Eduard Zaloshnja, surveyed 1,234 adults across Albania. Respondents were asked to name the most impactful figure in the political scene, with the survey distributed randomly via SMS to all 12 regions of the country.

Dumani received widespread support, securing double the votes of Prime Minister Rama and more than three times the backing of Berisha. The survey results suggest over one million adult Albanians consider Dumani the leading figure in Albania’s political landscape.

While Rama’s influence remains strong within government circles, Dumani’s growing prominence in the fight against corruption has made a significant impact.
