PM Rama pledges progress for Albania in hopeful New Year’s message

Dec 31, 2024 - Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama welcomed the New Year with a message of optimism and ambition, reflecting on 2023’s achievements while outlining a vision for the country’s future.

Speaking to the nation, Rama described the past year as one of progress, with Albania climbing “higher than ever.” He called for continued efforts in 2024 to secure the country’s place within the European Union, a longstanding national goal.

“This year, we’ve elevated Albania to new heights,” Rama said. “In the years to come, we’ll take it to the summit, where it will proudly stand as part of the united European family, even when we are no longer here.”

Rama also struck a personal note, urging citizens to embrace the final moments of the year with loved ones. “Today is our one day to descend—to pause, reflect, and gather strength for the journey ahead.”

The Prime Minister extended warm wishes for a year of health and prosperity, emphasizing the importance of unity as the country navigates both challenges and opportunities.

His message comes as Albania continues its push for European integration, with reforms and diplomatic efforts high on the agenda for 2024.
