Minister announces the establishment of Asset Recovery Office

Tirana, May 20, 2024 - Albanian Minister of Interior, Taulant Balla, announced the establishment of the Asset Recovery Office, which will align with EU standards. This office will prioritize tracking and seizing assets and funds from criminal activities.

In statement, Balla commended the State Police in Durrës, Tirana, Krujë, Vlorë, and the Border Police in Durrës for their recent operations. These forces brought 18 individuals to justice and confiscated assets and funds obtained through illegal means.

"Tracking and seizing assets from criminal activities is our priority," Balla stated. "We will soon realize this goal with the establishment of the Asset Recovery Office, adhering to the highest EU standards."

Balla highlighted ongoing nationwide efforts against narcotics cultivation, illegal firearm possession, property theft, and the arrest of wanted individuals.
