Tirana, January 9, 2025 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has unveiled the "New Bridges for Albania 2030" program, a key initiative aimed at transforming the country’s public properties into modern infrastructure. By partnering with the private sector, the government plans to create new administrative, tourist, cultural, and social projects that will drive Albania’s development.
At the event in Tirana, Rama was joined by Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja, Elira Kokona, Executive Director of the Albanian Investment Corporation, and Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj. Together, they presented the vision for a future where Albania’s public properties become engines of growth and modernity.
Rama explained that the program is designed to improve the state’s infrastructure, especially by upgrading workspaces for public administration. The program also aims to establish partnerships that will allow the public sector to directly benefit from these developments. "We are introducing a fresh approach, drawing from the best international experiences, particularly from Italy and Spain, where similar models have been highly successful," he said.
A key goal of the initiative is to address the abandoned factories and outdated enterprises that have marred Albania's landscape. Rama criticized previous privatization efforts, which, in his view, left many assets in poor condition. With the "New Bridges for Albania 2030" program, the government aims to breathe new life into these sites, turning them into valuable spaces for economic growth and innovation.
The Albanian Investment Corporation, which will play a crucial role in the program, will ensure the projects meet high standards and bring long-term benefits to both the public and private sectors.
With this new initiative, Albania hopes to attract investment, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for its citizens—marking a significant step in the country’s modernization process.
