The Special Appeals Court has decided to leave the ethnic Greek elected mayor of Himare, Fredi Beleri in jail.
This is the sixth time the court rejects Beleri's motion to be released from jail. Today's court session was also followed by the Greek ambassador to Albania and the leader of the Unity for Human Rights Party, Vangjel Dule.
A day ago, it was the Greek PM, Kyriakos Mitsotakis demanded that Beleri be allowed to be sworn in as mayor, by saying that this case is deteriorating relations between the two countries.
