Belgrade, December 14, 2024 – Ilir Proda, the Director General of the Albanian State Police, has been elected president of the South East Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA). Proda pledged to strengthen regional cooperation and combat crime in the region.

“I am fully committed to working together and deepening our cooperation. As police officers, our mission is clear – to fight crime and ensure the safety of our citizens,” Proda said. “The Albanian State Police will continue to dedicate itself to joint investigations and operations. We will do whatever it takes to prevent and combat global crime that threatens the world.”

Proda's presidency was formalized at the SEPCA General Assembly in Belgrade, where key topics such as human trafficking, cybercrime, and regional crime prevention were discussed. Proda emphasized the importance of regional collaboration, including joint training and increasing the role of women in policing.

The event also featured the participation of high-ranking officials, including the President of Interpol, Major General Dr. Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, and Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.

Proda will hold the position until December 2025.
