Albania to help with search and rescue operations following destructive earthquake in Turkey

Albania has dispatched a team of specialists to assist search and rescue operations in Turkey following the destructive earthquake which so far has caused more than two thousand deaths, thousands of wounded and considerable material damages.

The team includes 53 personnel staff, search and rescue specialists and seven vehicles.

Albania's defense minister, Niko Peleshi said during a ceremony held at Tirana's International Airport, that this contribution is made as a sign of gratitude for the assistance that Turkey provided following the destructive earthquake that hit the country on 26 November 2019.
