Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani attended the 30th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council hosted in Skopje, North Macedonia.
Minister Hasani condemned the Russian aggression on Ukraine, while stressing the fact that Russia is trying to cause trouble in Western Balkans.
“The biggest threat for our security today, in fact, for our entire security infrastructure, including this organization, is Russia and its unlawful war against Ukraine. This tragic war has had tragic consequences for the OSCE,” Hasani said.
The Albanian chief diplomat said Albania is doing everything it can to counter these threats, but according to him, there needs to be a coordinated effort to neutralize these threats.
“You must all agree that the best way to make Western Balkans and Europe safer is by recognizing Kosovo’s independence,” he said.
Meanwhile. minister Hasani also signed the Joint Statement on Combating Corruption in South-Eastern Europe through Asset Recovery and Use of Digitalization. According to him, the fight against corruption and promotion of good governance for Albania is a priority at home and internationally.
