Rama meets British Foreign Secretary, discuss migration and security

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has met on Friday with the UK Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly. The latter has posted a photo of the meeting.

"The UK and Albania are friends and allies. The challenges we face cannot be solved alone. That's why we're working together to tackle illegal migration and protect Europe's security," the British Foreign Secretary wrote on Twitter.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Edi Rama was received in London by his British counterpart, Rishi Sunak in the first visit of an Albanian prime minister to the UK. The meeting focused on issues such as migration, security, organised crime and economy.

The two PMs agreed that both countries will continue to exchange information aimed at stopping illegal immigration, while a joint task force will make an evaluation of Albanian prisons.
