Albanians headed to the polls on Sunday to vote for their new mayors. Polling stations opened at 7 am and closed at 7 pm. The number of eligible voters was 3,65 million.
Meanwhile, several small incidents were recorded during this process.
The biggest problems were encountered with the Electronic Identification Equipment, which obliged the Central Election Commission to order the voting to continue manually.
The most severe incident was registered at the Municipality of Kolonja, where an opposition supporter physically attacked incumbent mayor, Erion Isaj.
According to the Central Election Commission, voter turnout at 6 pm was 36,39%.
