Political parties wrap up election campaign ahead of Sunday’s vote

Political parties in Albania have wrapped up their election campaign on Friday as voters head to the polls on Sunday to elect their mayors.

Socialist leader and PM, Edi Rama was in the largest northern city today, in Shkodra to present this party’s candidate for mayor, Benet Beci. During this rally, the PM urged residents of this city to vote Benet Beci considering him as the ideal candidate for Shkodra.

Leader of the opposition coalition, Sali Berisha was in Elbasan to present the candidate for this city, Luciano Boci. Berisha said citizens of Elbasan must punish incumbent mayor and vote the opposition’s candidate.

The Democratic Party’s candidate for Tirana, Roland Bejko held a meeting with his supporters in the capital. During this meeting, Bejo rejected all accusations addressed against him by former PM, Sali Berisha that he’s been sold out to incumbent mayor, Erion Veliaj.
