Kosovo and Albania hold second joint parliamentary session

Dec 20, 2020 - Kosovo and Albania are hosting their second joint parliamentary session today, an important development in the growing political and diplomatic ties between the two nations. The session will begin at 11:00 AM in the Assembly of Kosovo.

This is the second such meeting, following the inaugural session on November 27, 2022, which marked the 110th anniversary of Albania’s independence. These joint sessions provide an opportunity to address shared interests, including regional security, economic collaboration, and European integration.

The agenda for today’s session includes the national anthems of both countries, followed by speeches from Kosovo's Speaker of Parliament, Glauk Konjufca, and Albania's Speaker, Elisa Spiropali. The session will wrap up with remarks from the two prime ministers: Albin Kurti of Kosovo and Edi Rama of Albania.

The session will also be attended by key political leaders, including heads of parliamentary groups from both countries, many of whom are traveling together by bus from Tirana to Pristina for the event.
