Greek minority candidate arrested on suspicion of vote-buying is elected mayor of Himare

The Greek minority candidate for mayor of Himare, Fredi Beleri, who was arrested on Friday on suspicion of vote-buying, has been elected the new mayor of Himare.

Meanwhile, supporters of the candidate have started celebrating.

On the other hand, counting of votes is underway across the country following Sunday's local government elections and the ruling Socialist Party look as if it's going to win in most municipalities.
