Former PM doesn't admit defeat, accuses ruling party of electoral fraud

The leader of one of the Democratic Party's factions, Sali Berisha made a statement this afternoon following the defeat that his political formation is suffering in the local government elections, which were held on Sunday.

According to Berisha, this is a moment of agony for democratic values in the country, while calling on opposition's commissioners to continue their work until the very last vote is counted.

The former PM blamed organised crime and oligarchs for what seems to be the biggest election defeat he has ever suffered. Berisha accused the ruling Socialist Party of vote-buying and electoral fraud.
