EU Ambassador stresses importance of transparent public administration for Albania's EU accession

May 13, 2024 — In a meeting held on Monday, the EU Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, reiterated the critical nature of Albania's current position in its negotiations for EU membership. Emphasizing the pivotal role of an independent and transparent administration, Gonzato highlighted the necessity for Albania's success in these talks.

Gonzato's remarks come following the conclusion of a financial project funded by the European Union, aimed at bolstering Albania's public administration. The project provided training opportunities for 23 young employees, focusing on EU legislation and administrative practices.

"With Albania reaching a crucial stage in accession negotiations, the significance of a competent, independent, and transparent public administration cannot be overstated," Gonzato stated during the meeting.
