Central Election Commission leaves Berisha's faction out of the elections

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi has registered today the opposition coalition, “Together we will win”, but it left out the Democratic Party’s faction represented by former PM, Sali Berisha. According to the commissioner, the official Democratic Party has not expressed its will to be part of this coalition in the May 14 local government electionsd.

Meanwhile, the current coalition will be comprised of only three opposition parties, instead of four, which initially included Berisha’s faction.

The representative of the Freedom Party, which is the second largest opposition party in the country and part of the coalition, said his party will file an appeal against the commissioner’s decision.
