Albania's interior minister meets his UK counterpart, discuss illegal migration of Albanian nationals

British Home Secretary, Suella Braverman has considered the meeting she had with her Albanian counterpart, Bledi Cuci in London as very important.

In a message posted on social media, secretary Braverman said the pair had discussed about “about the valued contribution of the Albanian community in the UK, and progress under our Joint Communique.”

According to her, this includes tackling serious organised crime and returning Albanian nationals, such as those who arrive on small boats.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Edi Rama was received in London by his British counterpart, Rishi Sunak in the first visit of an Albanian prime minister to the UK. The meeting focused on issues such as migration, security, organised crime and economy.

The two PMs agreed that both countries will continue to exchange information aimed at stopping illegal immigration, while a joint task force will make an evaluation of Albanian prisons.
