US welcomes Kosovo's decision to accept the French-German plan

US ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier says his country welcomes Kosovo's decision to accept, in principle, the European Union proposal for the normalization of ties with Serbia.

Hovenier says the US will provide full support for the EU sponsored dialogue.

"The United States is encouraged by and welcomes the decision by Kosovo also to accept the EU Proposal in principle, and we will continue to provide our full support to the EU-facilitated Dialogue. The interim agreement will bring significant benefits to both Kosovo and Serbia," the US ambassador wrote on Twitter.

Kosovo's PM, Albin Kurti said after meeting EU envoy Miroslav Lajcak on Monday that Kosovo accepts the so called French-German plan.

" "Good exchange with EU special envoy Miroslav Lajcak over working lunch in Prishtina. We do accept the EU proposal for the normalization of relations between Kosova and Serbia and consider it a good basis for further discussions and a solid platform for moving forward," Kurti said.
