Dec 24, 2025 - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has met with Russian Ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko, to discuss Kosovo and relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Vučić provided an update on the situation in Kosovo, reiterating Serbia's stance on the region, which remains a source of tension with both the EU and the US. The Serbian leader also highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Balkans.
Vučić said he had received a New Year and Christmas card from Russian President Vladimir Putin, to which he responded with best wishes for the people of Russia.
The president also stressed the need for a final resolution to the "long-standing challenges" in the region.
Serbia’s ties with Russia remain strong, despite mounting pressure from the West for Serbia to move closer to European integration.
