President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani declared today that her country will not agree to additional criteria being imposed on her country in order to be granted visa-free travel. According to her, Kosovo has met all the conditions and that the visa regime for citizens of Kosovo should have been removed a long time ago.

"We want to be treated the same as other countries. Never in the history of the European Union has there been a case where a country was given a second road-map and new criteria to meet," Kosovo's president said.

Meanwhile, Osmani added that her country will never join an initiative which would further delay free movement.

Kosovo has met all visa liberalisation requirements set by the European Union back in 2018, while since then, EU officials have called on the EU to finish such a process as soon as possible.

Recently, the European Parliament Members adopted reports showing the progress made by Kosovo, as well as Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia, towards EU membership in the last two years, calling on the EU Council to grant visa-free travel to Europe for Kosovars.
