PRISTINA, Dec 24, 2024 – Kosovo and Albania have joined forces to tackle organized crime with a new agreement between top prosecutors from both countries.
Kosovo's Chief Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj and Albania's SPAK head Altin Dumani signed the deal, which sets up joint investigative teams to target financial and organized crime networks operating across their borders.
The move is seen as a major step toward improving security and strengthening justice systems in the region. “This agreement is about protecting our citizens and standing together against crime,” said Isufaj. Dumani called it “a vital partnership to address shared challenges.”
The cooperation will focus on crimes that harm both nations' economies and societies, including corruption and money laundering. It also aligns with European integration goals, signaling growing unity among Balkan states.
