Former president criticises Kurti over Kosovo deadlock

Former Kosovo president Vjosa Osmani has criticised Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s leadership style, saying the country needs compromise after another inconclusive election.

In an interview with CNN, Osmani said Kosovo’s political deadlock was damaging the country’s interests at home and abroad.

She said the crisis began just as Kosovo was trying to build stronger support from the Trump administration.

Osmani said voters had made clear that parties must compromise after the election failed to give any side a clear path to power.

She criticised what she called “one-man show” politics, saying Kosovo no longer needed leaders who try to govern alone.

Kosovo could face another election if parliament fails to choose a president within 60 days.
