The patient was admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK) on December 24, 2024. He presented symptoms including fever, chills, skin rashes, and itching, affecting his face and hands.
The National Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK) says it has tracked all of the infected individual's contacts, including his family members, and issued health recommendations to prevent further spread. Authorities have assured the public that the patient's condition is stable.
Monkeypox, a virus that spreads through close contact, has seen a rise in cases globally, particularly in countries with recent ties to West and Central Africa.
