After Kosovo’s PM, Albin Kurti and Serbia’s president, Aleksandar Vucic failed to reach an agreement on Thursday during a meeting they had in Brussels under the supervision of the EU chief diplomat, Josep Borrell and EU special representative, Miroslav Lajcak, the latter has called on the two sides to resume to dialogue, otherwise, according to him, both countries could regress.
The EU diplomat urged both Kosovo and Serbia to implement the Ohrid agreement. This agreement was mediated by the European Union and it aims to normalize diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia. On 27 February 2023, it was verbally accepted by Kosovar prime minister Albin Kurti and Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić and a plan for its implementation was agreed on 18 March 2023.
Lajcak also considered Thursday’s negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia leaders to be very difficult .
