Bosnia security minister quits amid corruption probe

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s security minister, Nenad Nešić, has announced his resignation following a corruption investigation that saw him and several others arrested.

Nešić took to social media to confirm his decision, stating it was made for "moral reasons" and in light of recent events. He promised further details once his lawyers file the official resignation.

“I have resigned as Security Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I will always fight for Republika Srpska,” Nešić declared, referencing the country’s Serb-majority entity.

The minister, along with Milan Dakić, head of Republika Srpska Highways, and five others, was detained in late December as part of a sweeping anti-corruption operation. They face allegations including money laundering, abuse of office, and bribery. (TemA)
