PM urges private sector to raise salaries

Prime Minister Edi Rama has urged the private sector in the country to increase salaries in order to prevent the workforce from leaving the country.

During a meeting with business representatives in Durres, Rama said many countries are suffering shortages of workers and that there's a tough race going on for their recruitment.

The PM said the private sector must cooperate in order to increase the average monthly salary, while adding that although it's up to the private sector to determine how it pays its employees, the state will nonetheless intervene.

He said that those businesses which will not respond to his call will not benefit any public funds through tenders and public procurements.
