At a meeting with business representatives to discuss the need of increasing salaries in the private sector, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the "time when companies exploited their workers must come to an end".
The PM said companies now are aware of the fact that "the struggle to preserve human resources has expanded inside their territory".
"Companies are seeing how human resources are leaving. Everyone is seeing how more developed countries are looking everywhere to find them," Rama told representatives from the business sector urging them to increase salaries for their employees in order to prevent them from leaving.
Meanwhile, as of April 1, minimum monthly wage in Albania will be 40 thousand leks. With the recent increases in the minimum wage, the Albanian government is planning to make the labour market in Albania competitive.
