TIRANA, January 24, 2025 – Prime Minister Edi Rama unveiled two major development decisions today.
The first is the finalization of a draft law for the Albanian Development Bank, in collaboration with Italy's Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The project aims to bring a new development engine to Albania and will soon be open for public consultation. The bank will be run by a joint Albanian-Italian team, ensuring independent and professional governance.
The second decision involves a new financing line from the Bank of Albania for small and medium enterprises, focusing on agriculture. The government is preparing a €250 million package of low-interest loans, the largest-ever support for agri-processing, greenhouses, agrotourism, and technology.
