Imports and exports fell in value and grew in volume in March

Data released by the country’s office for statistics, INSTAT, for the month of March this year, show that exports and imports have fallen significantly compared to the same period a year ago.

In March 2023, the value of exports amounted to 42 billion leks, 11.7% lower than a year ago, while the value of imports amounted to 81 billion leks, 3.7% lower than the same period a year ago.

However, in terms of volume, exports and imports saw an increase compared to a year ago. The volume of exports was up by 6.2% in March this year, while imports were up 6.4%.
