Govt to discuss pay increases with private sector

In a message posted on social media, Prime Minister Edi Rama said the government has launched discussions with representatives of the private sector on the necessity of increasing salaries.

He added that the government has started to adjust the entire pay scheme following the increase in minimum monthly wage, which as of April will be 40 thousand leks. According to him, this is the government’s response to the economic hardships caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

With the recent increases in the minimum wage, the Albanian government is planning to make the labour market in Albania competitive.
