Govt simplifies procedures for foreign workers

Labour shortages is forcing many Albanian businesses to hire foreign workers. This situation has encouraged the government to start facilitating procedures for them.

A recent government decision gives way to the approval of work permits for foreign workers within a period of two weeks instead of three months, which is the current time needed for this approval.

According to business representatives, the simplification of procedures will have a positive effect in bringing foreign workers in the country. They say that this is an urgent request not only from the manufacturing sector, but from all sectors of the economy.

It's been estimated that the Albanian economy currently needs around 100 thousand workers.
