Foreign tourists spent 1.55 billion euros in the first half of the year

During the first half of 2023, foreign tourists spent 1.55 billion euros in Albania. This is the highest figure ever recorded and this makes Albania one of the top destinations for tourists this year.

Data released by the Albanian central bank suggests that the amount foreign tourists spent in Albania in the first half of the year was up 37% compared to the same period a year ago.

In the second quarter alone, foreign tourists spent 930 million euros, 30% more than the same period 2022.

Data released by the Ministry of Tourism a few days ago also confirmed a record number of tourists in the period January to August 2023. The number of arrivals during this period was 7.1 million, 27% more than the same period in 2022.
